The sweet and sour taste of rhubarb is known and loved by young and old. But what probably few people know is that rhubarb is not a fruit but a vegetable. Originally, rhubarb comes from the Himalayas, and before that, it reached Europe via China and Russia, where it has been cultivated since the 18th century. Today, rhubarb enjoys constant popularity as a compote, in jams, cakes and other desserts.
