Our organic Aronia juice is continuously monitored and certified by the German ecological board ABCERT (DE-ÖKO-006).

The chokeberry is a cross between eastern North American rowans and medlars. The famous Russian botanist and world traveller Mitschurin discovered the Aronia shrub in America in the 20th Century and brought it back to Russia. The Russian biologist and fruit cultivator then successfully managed to grow this unique, frost resilient fruit.
Aronia berries are black and have a waxy skin. They grow to be around 5 to 12 mm in size, and the shrub is harvested between the months of August and October.
Aronia berries taste very much like blueberries, but their slightly bitter flavour gives them a somewhat sweet and sour taste that differentiates them from other fruit.
Aronia berries are only edible once they have been dried or made into juice using a special steaming process.
