Visit to the Anuga food trade fair in Cologne 2025

The Anuga food fair takes place every two years in Cologne and is a trade fair for trade visitors only. This means that unfortunately only visitors from the food industry are entitled to attend.

This is certainly a shame for end consumers, as the trade fair offers a broad overview of all food sectors, from baked goods and confectionery to meat substitutes, dairy products and beverages, as well as a wide range of organic products and frozen foods.
Food supplements and many new products are also presented here.

So we want to give you at least a little insight here, because a visit to the trade fair is definitely exciting and certainly worth a visit.

Unfortunately, the trade fair begins in chaos for various visitors, because the parking garage has to be paid for in advance with cash, which will certainly take some getting used to for various international guests.

Then you have to walk to the exhibition grounds, which is more of a scavenger hunt for visitors from abroad due to the lack of signage, especially as the digital navigation solution of the trade fair works at least as well as the payment in the parking garage.

Once you arrive, however, the fun can begin.

This year, the 9 halls, some of them two-storey, on 300,000m2, are gearing up for the rush of visitors to Anuga between 04-08 October.

2023 140,000 visitors from 200 countries.

This means that the visit can be very overwhelming at first, especially for newcomers to the fair.

But this feeling subsides over time and you quickly take a liking to the different smells and tastes of all the food, which you can usually try and are even encouraged to do, because of course the exhibitors are at the fair to promote their products and find new trading partners.

And so, between baklava, macarons, ice cream, cheese, pralines, mushroom ragout and pizza, you are tempted more often than you would like. But it's also really hard to resist.

In addition to the culinary delights, the search for new suppliers and the reunion of existing business contacts are among the real reasons for visiting a food trade fair such as Anuga or Biofach in Nuremberg, where we also had our own stand in 2019 and 2020.

Here you will find the perfect environment to strengthen long-standing business relationships and meet suppliers who have become friends over the years, to talk about possible improvements and to get to know new products.
The following video gives you an even better overview.

As we source our products from all corners of the world, it is of course not possible to visit all suppliers every year. For products that we source from Europe, such as our blueberry powder, flower pollen and bee bread, this is a little easier.

It becomes more complicated with products that come from overseas, such as our chlorella, spirulina and barley grass juice powder. This means that Anuga offers the perfect environment for maintaining business contacts.

But it's not just supplier relationships that can be fostered here. Our employees and the relationships with our employees also benefit from a visit to the trade fair.

A visit to the trade fair is an excellent employee outing because, on the one hand, it is of course simply exciting to get to know the different people and products and, on the other hand, you gain a completely different understanding of the diversity of the food world.

But of course Anuga has even more to offer than just getting to know people and products.

During the five days of the trade fair, visitors and exhibitors can attend various conferences, congresses and shows.

One example of this is the Tomato Conference.

Here, interested visitors can find out all the latest news from the world of tomatoes worldwide, such as the harvest situation, price developments and new trends.

There will also be presentations on food safety and food certifications such as Halal or Kosher.

At the same time, presentations such as the Anuga Organic Supermarket, Halal Market and Kosher Market offer the opportunity to find out about certified products and product innovations.

Anuga is therefore a place to stroll, inform, taste and make contacts.

The variety of languages spoken by our team, which covers a wide range from German, English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Turkish and Arabic, is also helpful.
This makes communication at trade fairs much easier and, of course, more profound.

In conclusion, Anuga is definitely worth a visit, but could definitely benefit from better organization.
